1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Before making our music we aimed to find out the common conventions for R&B such as having a narrative or performance based music video, showing off their possessions and performing in fancy areas. I also found that most R&N music videos were performance and narrative, narrative so that there was a storyline and performance so that there was a link between the audience and the artist. However we challenged the conventions slightly because we didn’t use a fancy atmosphere we used a plain one as we filmed on normal roads because of our narrative.
We sold our artist as she performed in our music video. We wanted the artist to perform in the music video as it would attract more audiences and they would feel closer to the artist. We also did this as her picture was used on the front of the Digipak and on the Poster as shown below:
We used the same picture for the Digipak and the Poster as shown above because when we researched R&B Digipak and Posters they had a similar picture on the front. We followed these conventions so that the audiences could tell they were both from the same artist and it would attract the audience more.
